General Comments
Inverkeithing Primary School comprises the original school building (single storey), laterally used as the school's dining room and the 2/3 storey main building. The original school was constructed circa 1874 and the main building circa 1913.

The former Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing is located in South Fife and boasts a population of circa 5500. It lies 12 miles to the north west of Edinburgh and has excellent access to the motorway network via the M90. The city of Dunfermline lies approximately 4 miles north west. Inverkeithing was first established as a port but during the last century was chiefly known for its ship breaking activities. Inverkeithing lies on the main east coast railway line and also links in to the Fife Circle line. An Airdirect bus provides a direct link from the rail station to Edinburgh airport. Inverkeithing also enjoys good local bus links & is home to the award winning Ferrytoll Park & Ride facility which provides, amongst other destinations, bus travel in to Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Airport.
Roods Road lies to the west of the town's High Street and is mainly residential in character, comprising a mixture of private and Local Authority housing.
